The collection
Discover more than 700 works created by women artists, from the Baroque period to the present day, from The Levett Collection.
Only around one hundred works are on view at FAMM at any given time. The display evolves regularly through international loans, new acquisitions, and the museum’s rehangs.
This constant rotation offers the opportunity to discover different generations of artists and a continually renewed reading of art history.
The Collector's Choice
The person behind the collection
Christian LevettAs I finished rereading a great classic of art history and turned the last page, I wondered: "But where are the women?"
Christian Levett, a distinguished art collector and philanthropist, founded FAMM, an ambitious project that significantly enhances the visibility of female artists. Leading a collection of nearly 2000 works that reflect his passion for art and history, he actively contributes to the recognition of female artists.
Since March 2021, he has offered private tours of his Florence residence, a palazzo adorned exclusively with women's art. His book "Abstract Expressionists: The Women", which highlights major artists who have marked this key movement in modern art, was acclaimed upon its publication in 2022. The opening of FAMM is part of his commitment to giving female artists the visibility their talent deserves.
