The museum curation

The exhibition unfolds through a captivating narrative, blending chronological and thematic threads. Visitors are invited to explore the galleries in the following order:

Floor 0 / Ground Floor:

Upon entering, the first gallery immerses you in a period marked by the iconic works of Impressionist masters. Then, the space transitions to Surrealism, a realm where the conscious and the unconscious meet, and where incongruous elements, dreams, and fantasies harmoniously juxtapose.

Floor 1:

This floor is dedicated to the 20th century, and more specifically to abstraction. The large formats and the strong impact of the artworks immerse the viewer in a world where the laws of nature have been supplanted by a bold and deconstructed artistic language.

Floor 2:

Leaving behind a gallery pulsating with the raw energy of spontaneous brushstrokes and abstract forms, depicted in an array of styles and vector of powerful stories, the human body takes centre stage on the 2nd floor

Floor - 1:

Last but not least, the lower ground floor gallery celebrates 21st-century female artists. Here, they express themselves through classical themes of art history, brilliantly asserting their legitimacy in the art world and their undisputed place in museums.

The visitors' experience

For your comfort and the safety of the artworks all bags must be left in the secure lockers provided free of charge at museum reception.

One of the most picturesque villages on the Côte d'Azur, renowned for its association with great artists, Mougins is nestled between sea and mountains.

FAMM is located at the entrance of the medieval village, and we invite our visitors to take the oppotunity of their visit to embrace the quintessential ambiance of this must-see destination.

Just a few steps away from the museum, the Centre de la Photographie and the Centre d'Art, both focusing on contemporary art, form with FAMM an exceptional cultural experience at the heart of the village.

Numerous cafes and restaurants, each boasting a diverse range of choices, infuse delightful vibrancy into this Provençal village, catering to every taste.
