Based in New York, Nicole Wittenberg, born in 1979 in San Francisco, is a versatile artist. Besides her roles as a curator, professor, and writer, she is primarily recognized as a painter. Her paintings, mainly natural landscapes, convey her intimate feelings and transform them into scenes that reflect a strong impressionist influence.
Graduating from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2003, Wittenberg quickly emerged as a notable figure in figurative art, winning the John Koch Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2012. She enriched the academic world by teaching at the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture and the Bruce High Quality Foundation University from 2011 to 2014, and served in the Critical Theory Department at the School of Visual Arts in New York in 2017.
Nicole Wittenberg's works are exhibited in prestigious collections worldwide, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Albertina in Vienna, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
