The deformed subjects that populate Louise Bonnet's creative imagination oscillate between attraction and repulsion, beauty and ugliness, burlesque comedy and psychological tension. Born in 1970 in Geneva, Switzerland, Bonnet attended the University of Art and Design before permanently relocating to Los Angeles in 1994. Having worked for years in illustration and graphic design, she only launched her career as an artist in 2008. Bonnet's first solo exhibition took place at Subliminal Projects, a gallery and project space founded by Shepard Fairey and Blaize Blouin. Rooted in the principles of art accessibility, their message resonated with Bonnet's rejection of the prescriptive formality she had experienced in Switzerland's fine art museums.

Influenced by surrealism and cinema, Bonnet creates a voyeuristic dynamic in her works, notably in "The Hours" (2020), where she presents eyeless figures, inviting unrestrained observation. Her work examines the mind-body interrelation, addressing themes of vulnerability and intimacy, resonating with the subjects explored by Hitchcock and Saul, blurring the lines between the personal and the public.

Her creations are featured in prestigious collections such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and others, affirming her impact in the contemporary art world.
