Elisabeth Jacquet
Centre d'art de Mougins
Born into an artistic family, Eva Gonzalès began studying under Édouard Manet at just twenty-two, becoming his only formal pupil. She soon developed a distinctive artistic voice of her own.
From intimate portraits of women to scenes of domestic and everyday life, Gonzalès captured the quiet moments of modern life with remarkable sensitivity. Her work is characterised by its attention to gesture, atmosphere and the changing world around her. A regular exhibitor at the Paris Salon, she gained significant recognition during her lifetime.
For L’Heure FAMM, art historian Elisabeth Jacquet will explore Eva Gonzalès’s life and work, offering an insight into her unique artistic world and her distinctive approach to intimacy and modernity.
