Catherine Goodman is a London-based artist specializing primarily in figurative work. She regularly addresses themes such as portraits, interior scenes, and urban landscapes. Goodman draws inspiration from both nature and photography, placing high value on drawing skills, which she considers crucial for transforming three-dimensional perceptions of life into two-dimensional works. In 2019, she was elected to the board of trustees of the National Gallery, recognizing her significant influence in the art world. Her creations are part of prestigious collections such as the National Portrait Gallery and the Fitzwilliam Museum. Co-founder of the Royal Drawing School with HM King Charles III, she emphasizes observational drawing in art education. Goodman, who also serves as its director, was awarded the title of Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order in 2014 and Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2024 for her artistic contributions.
