Sculptor and fashion designer
French
Originally from Nice, Nicole Farhi joined Stephen Marks at French Connection in London in 1978, where she headed the design studio. Her influence grew, and in 1982, Marks helped her launch her own haute couture brand, Nicole Farhi. The brand achieved international success, with boutiques in London and New York, and expanded with Nicole Farhi for Men in 1989 and a home collection in 1998.
Alongside her career in fashion, Farhi developed a passion for sculpture in the 1980s under the mentorship of Jean Gibson. She eventually devoted herself fully to sculpture, organizing her first solo exhibition in 2019. Her exhibition at the Edinburgh Art Festival included 25 clay busts of iconic literary figures.
As a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors, Nicole Farhi has left her mark on both the fashion and art industries with her talent and artistic commitment.
