Sahara Longe is a British figurative artist whose artistic journey was shaped in Florence, within the studio of Charles H. Cecil. It was there that she acquired the foundations of classical drawing and the painting techniques of the old masters, a major influence that shines through in each of her works.
Her creations are infused with her love for portraits of live models, which she renders as figures posed against semi-abstract backgrounds. Her bold and dynamic use of color palette, combined with often monumental dimensions, brings striking portraits of the everyday to life. Her style is distinguished by deliberate minimalism, eliminating any frills to focus on the essence of her subject.
Recognition of her talent continues to grow, to the point that she was recently chosen by His Majesty King Charles to immortalize the Windrush generation through her portraits.
