Painter and sculptor

South African

Born in 1957 in Johannesburg, Claire Gavronsky is a multidisciplinary artist, with a preference for painting and sculpture. Her work incorporates visual allusions to historical paintings while capturing the essence of everyday events. Gavronsky's creations address topics such as memory, racism and violence against women and children, weaving these social issues at the heart of her art. Gavronsky's approach engages the public to explore the different layers of meaning in her works, stimulating reflection on societal challenges.
