An internationally recognised artist, Olga Marciano lives and works in Salerno. Known for her solo exhibitions and continual experimentation with artistic languages, she explores connections between art and social issues. Her practice is grounded in extensive research into art history, which informs both her painting and sculpture. She has exhibited widely throughout Italy and participated in the Biennales of Florence, La Spezia, Genoa and Venice, including the exhibition Lo Stato dell’Arte curated by Vittorio Sgarbi. In 2018, she presented works in the Italian Pavilion at Art Expo, New York.
Alongside her artistic practice, she works as a curator and artistic director of international cultural events. She created several innovative exhibition formats, including Talking and Sensory Paint, Italy’s first sensory exhibition featuring “talking” paintings. Her work frequently addresses themes such as women’s rights and environmental sustainability, with several projects commissioned by public institutions. She founded and curates the Salerno Biennial of Contemporary Art, now in its fifth edition. In 2022, she began a close collaboration with the Tobian Art Gallery in Florence, and in 2023 joined Milan Design Week showing her work at the Ma-ec-Gallery.
